Chug Life Soda Shop isn’t just a business — it’s a full-on tribute to the rhythm that shaped our lives. This family-run soda stand is powered by flavor and fueled by music — the kind that moved us, raised us, and made us who we are.
It all started in 1988 when a young Sean walked into Sam Goody and bought his first cassette: Run DMC’s “Tougher Than Leather.”
That was it — game over. The rhythm of his childhood came straight from boombox speakers, blasting legends like Sir Mix-A-Lot, Grandmaster Flash, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, and anyone else who had a fresh beat and something real to say.
As Sean grew, so did his love for the culture...from tagging graffiti in his notebooks, to rocking kicks that made a statement, to DJing mixtapes for nightclubs and parties. Eventually, that love turned into motion, as he became a hip-hop dancer, and eventually a dance teacher, using movement to express the beats that shaped his soul.
Music isn’t a backdrop in Sean’s life; it’s the main track. And Chug Life was born from that same energy: loud, custom, creative, and full of flavor.
But hip-hop wasn’t the only genre spinning in our headphones. Sean and his wife Tabitha were also raised on the loud, emotional anthems of rock, from Bon Jovi’s hair-flipping hooks to the raw guitar riffs of Coheed and Cambria. Tabitha proudly holds the title of Elder Emo, with a soft spot for Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights, The Used, and Good Charlotte (Yes, she’ll still scream the lyrics if it comes on in the car).
Kenzie, our daughter and the future of Chug Life, is a beautiful melting pot of music. She was raised on the greats — both rock and hip-hop — but she’s found her own sound. Her playlist is a mix of old-school influence and fresh new flavors, just like the drinks we serve.
As we grow this brand, she’s already playing a key role. From brainstorming drink names to curating the vibe at our pop-ups, she’s helping shape what’s next. Because for us, this isn’t just about soda. It’s about legacy, creativity, and giving the next generation the mic.
Because we wanted to share a piece of who we are with the world.
Just like a mixtape, every drink at Chug Life is a curated experience; a custom-built flavor profile with heart, history, and a whole lot of bass.
